Set up IPTV on a MAG box

MAG boxes don't use apps. They connect to a portal address and are activated by their MAC address. Once set up, they boot straight into live TV, which makes them popular with less technical users.

Step by step

    Find the MAC address

    Look on the sticker under the box, or open Settings, then Status. It starts with 00:1A:79. Send it to us with your order so we can link your subscription to the box.

    Open the portal settings

    Press Setup on the remote (or Settings from the home menu), choose System Settings, then Servers, then Portals.

    Add the portal URL

    In Portal 1 name type IPTV Rapid. In Portal 1 URL type the portal address from your welcome email exactly, including http:// and the trailing slash. Save with OK.

    Restart the portal

    Go back to the home screen and choose Restart portal, or unplug the box for ten seconds. The box loads your channels and guide on start-up.

MAG box questions

MAG boxes are activated by MAC address instead of a username and password. We link your subscription to that address so the portal recognises your box.
